General Season info:
The cheerleading season runs from August to approximately the end of November. The total number of games that you will cheer at will be based on the Football teams/divisions and your head coach discretion. There are normally a total of 10 games played by the football players, depending on whether a team qualifies for the Calvert Classic. The top 4 teams in each football weight division qualify for the Calvert Classic.
There are 6 clubs/organizations that participate in the Calvert County Youth Cheerleading/Football League they are:
Huntingtown Hornets * Prince Frederick Eagles * Solomons Steelers
Dunkirk Warriors * Owings Outlaws * Beach Buccaneers

Cheer Sqaud Divisions:
Flag, Pee-wee, 70lb, 80lb, 90lb, 100lb, 120lb and Unlimited.
Cheerleaders are placed on squads based on birth year, cheer skills, maturity and balance across the squads.
Practice:
Can begin August 1st, with the first game of the season potentially starting August 28th.
Regular Season Schedules:
Schedules are not made available to the clubs normally until the week prior to the first game(s). We will post all schedules as soon as the county provides them.
Game(s) will not be schedule for Labor Day weekend.
Competition Info:
The Calvert County Competition is will be held Sunday November 14, 2010 at Huntingtown High School. Your head coach may choose to enter your team in other competitions during the season.

CropTops - $15.00 (mandatory for certain squads)
Poms - $25.00 (mandatory for certain squads)
Warmup Suits - $45.00 (mandatory for certain squads)

2008 Cheerleading Competition(s) ~ Congratulations to all the cheerleaders and coaches you all were fantastic at the competitions. Cheerleading Coaching Application Info:
If you are interested in volunteering this year as a coach please fill out the Coach Application as well as the Background Check Form and bring to the April 14th meeting. It is our hope to have coaches selected before the May 2009 registrations begin. If you are unable to attend the meeting please contact a board member and advise them of your interest.
All coaches (heads and assistants) that will be on the "other side of the ropes" are required by CCPR to be certified through the National Alliance for Youth Sports.
Coaches who have completed the certification process must provide your membership number and expiration date on your Coaching Application.
